Jack

Age: Approximately 4 – 5 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Jack!!!

Jack is a four to five year old handsome husky who apparently lost his way when frightened by the noise and the fireworks on Fourth of July (2009). We cannot imagine losing such a wonderful boy, but no one has come forward to claim him and he is ready to find a forever home and start his second leash on life.

Jack is a friendly boy who likes affection. He gets along quite well with the other dogs in the home and would do well in a home with another large dog (no cats please). He is not food or toy aggressive and lets his foster mom brush him quite easily (always a good quality in a Siberian!).

Jack is absolutely terrified of thunderstorms and loud noises (emergency vehicles, etc.), which is why he found his way to rescue. This boy needs a family that will care for him, protect him and keep him safe and sound.

Drake

Age: 15 Months
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Drake!!!

Drake is a very handsome young man ready to take on the world! This fifteen month old is full of energy and loves to play, play, play! He is a very smart and good-natured boy and he is quickly learning the ropes at his foster home.

Drake is crate trained and housebroken with the exception of some marking, which should stop with his recent neuter and as he becomes accustom to his new surroundings. He is great with other dogs his size and with kids, although he is a spirited pup that could accidentally knock over a toddler.

Due to Drake’s age and high energy level, he will be best placed in a home with a sibe-savvy family that will continue with his training. He will definitely benefit from a canine playmate to entertain and keep him out of trouble. True to his breed, he is very alert for any opportunity to escape and explore the world and must be in a home with a sibe-proof fence to keep him safe and sound where he belongs.

If you are up for the puppy challenge and have the time and patience to devote to Drake, please complete our online application. He is going to be a wonderful family pet!

Diesel

Age: Approximately 2 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Diesel!!!

Meet Diesel, a young Husky/Great Dane mix who is looking to find his furever best friend. Diesel is a fun loving boy who enjoys playing and cuddling. He is good with other dogs, loves everyone and will make a wonderful companion. He is still a youngster, so he is full of energy (for this reason, we recommend he be placed in a home with older children). When it comes to those quiet times, he enjoys laying at your feet or in your lap.

Diesel has inherited the shorter coat of the Great Dane, but the markings and the enthusiasm to run from the Husky.

Diesel was given up by his owners, who felt he had “allergies”. A trip to the vet revealed he had fleas, which were easily taken care of. With flea products readily available at the local vets, Diesel will have no more worries!

Diesel is a smart boy ~ he knows “sit” and “come” and is eager to learn more. He will do best in a home that has the patience to train him and perhaps enroll in a basic obedience class for lessons.

If you have the time and the love to have a new “Best Friend Furever” ~ Diesel is your boy!

Deacon

Age: 4 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Deacon!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Deacon is a handsome four-year-old black and white male Siberian with a stunning wolf’s coat of shining red highlights. He is a good boy; well mannered and even good on a leash (for a husky).

Deacon’s story is sad. He came into rescue after being attacked by another dog. He received a bite to his ear that literally has caused a hole large enough to see through. Still, Deacon remains a happy, well-adjusted pup and he holds no grudges with other dogs.

He loves being with people and easily makes new friends on his walks. This boy would love a home where he would have human companions who include him in their daily activities and are home for at least part of the day. He is comfortable in a crate however he is very trustworthy in the house. He’s a curious, happy-go-lucky guy who loves to explore and hang out with his people however would do best in a home without young children. He can be placed with other dogs of similar size however he prefers to be in charge. He would also be content as an only dog. One glance at his infectious smile and gorgeous blue eyes will instantly brighten anyone’s day!

Daisy

Age: 15 1/2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Our beloved Miss Daisy has begun her journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer. She was a strong and courageous fighter, but in the past couple of weeks she had begun to slow down. Today, it was clear that her body could no longer fight and she was ready. Surrounded by love and showered by tears, Daisy passed quickly and peacefully.

Dearest Daisy ~ Wear your silver harness proudly. You fought hard and now you are free of pain. Dance among the stars as you make your way. Many are waiting to greet you. You will be horribly missed and always in our hearts… ~ January 16, 2012

This little Siberian Husky/German Shepherd Dog never knew what she did or why her family gave her up after so many years of loyal companionship (they moved without her).

Daisy was welcomed into rescue with open arms and she rewarded us with soft tail wags. She quickly realized she was with people who loved her and she is becoming a very happy dog again. She is good with people and other dogs and is easy going and a joy to be around.

Daisy has been with MaPaw for over a year. Although she is 15 1/2 years old, this little gal can still be feisty. Our Miss Daisy had been slowing down and a trip to the vet brought very sad news ~ Daisy has been diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. She will be loved and spoiled in our Husky Hospice program. Each day with her is a gift and we are delighted to share many kisses, hugs and kind words with her. Daisy has her own special bed and heated blankets to keep her comfortable.

Chouix

Age: 6-1/2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Chouix!!!

Chouix is a pretty six and-one half year old Siberian Husky/German Shepherd/Chow mix that actually came into MaPaw SHR at two days old. She was born on November 20, 2003. She was an adorable puppy and she has grown into a beautiful adult. Chouix was adopted to a wonderful family at 10 weeks old and has been a cherished pet and member of their family all her life. Sadly, due to life changes, her family has no other recourse but to ask us to find their girl a new home where she will be loved.

Chouix has always been a MaPaw favorite (even though we love ALL of our dogs). She is a very loyal and friendly dog, however, she can be a little shy at times out of fear or if she feels threatened for some reason. She has been raised with kids in the house ever since she was a puppy.

Chouix just wants to please no matter what; she is a loving girl who is an excellent companion and soul-mate. She will be best in a home with another dog to keep her company as she can be a little anxious when left alone. Chouix just needs a home where she will be safe and loved ~ and where she can do what she does best ~ give unconditional love and be by your side.

Cerebeus

Age: 4 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Cerebeus!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Cerebeus is a four year old male husky looking for love and a permanent home. Sadly, this handsome gray and white bi-eyed Siberian must say goodbye to his current family due to hard times. They are so sad and will miss him, but we have promised to find a wonderful new family for Cerebeus to love.

Cerebeus is a smart boy ~ he knows Sit and Lay Down. Typical of a husky, he can be “too” smart and knows how to push and pull open, unsecured doors. True to his breed, he is an escape artist and will need a home that is secure and “husky proof”.

Cerebeus is a high energy dog and can be an alpha. He can be very enthusiastic and needs some continued guidance and training. He loves to go for walks and will be best in an active home with a lot of exercise to satisfy his energy. If you are up for the Siberian challenge and ready for a new best friend, please ask more about this great guy.

Candy

Age: Approximately 1 – 2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Large

Congratulations Candy!!!

Candy is our newest addition to MaPaw and is as sweet as her name. She is a blend of brown, black and white with stunning blue eyes that nobody can resist. She is a tall girl and estimated to be one to two years old, however, she is a lady and isn’t telling her exact age.

Candy is a happy girl and that constant grin is contagious and a sure way to brighten the day. Please feel free to contact us for updates, we are getting to know and enjoy this pretty little girl.

Ben

Age: 10 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Large

Our dear Ben has lost his battle with cancer. In the last week, his health had quickly deteriorated and it was clear that he was ready. He passed quickly and peacefully, surrounded by those that love him.

Ben ~ wear your silver harness proudly, dear friend. Dance among the stars, free of pain. It was a privilege to care for you and an honor to know you. Until we meet again…. ~ 3.29.2011

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

To know Ben is to love him ~ Everyone falls in love with this big, goofy guy with those huge ears and oh-so-expressive eyes. Just being in the same room with Ben makes you smile. He loves everyone and isn’t shy one bit about clowning around and demanding attention.

Ben had a secret that he was trying to hide, however, when our happy guy began limping and crying in his sleep, we knew immediate medical attention was needed. It was a very sad day when consultation and x-rays confirmed our worse fears ~ ten year old Ben had an aggressive bone cancer that had consumed his front leg to the point the weight bearing bone could fracture at any time.

To ensure the limited time Ben has left with us is quality time it was decided the best course of treatment for him was to amputate his front leg. Ben has amazed us with his progress in learning to adapt to three legs ~ he has even learned how to do stairs to share his foster parents’ bed on the second floor, under close supervision of course.

Sadly, this operation will not extend Ben’s life, but it warms our heart to see him happy again and doing so well. He may only be with us for six months, it may be more, but each and every day he will be spoiled and we will enjoy his antics and embrace his love.
