MaPaw Invades Fido’s Festival

Hello Puppers ~
This weekend MaPaw volunteers and a few of our available pups made their way to New Jersey for the Fido’s Festival, a 2 day event. From what we’ve heard, our pups stole the show! Jack, Kai, Cyrus, Shanuk, Kya, Tawney and Mason (he’s not on the site yet) were on their best behavior and had many admirers.

Throughout the weekend, raffle tickets were sold to raise money to cover Callie’s medical costs from her emergency hospitalization last week. The prize was an incredible one…a scooter donated to MaPaw by dogscooter.com (Thank you Dogscooter.com!).

Our lucky winner was Kathy P. from Hanover, New Jersey. Congratulation Kathy!

Thanks to Fido’s Festival for a great event. We had a blast!!!

Well…Hello Kai!

Hello Puppers ~
Check out this handsome fella! His name is Kai and he joined his MaPaw foster home on Wednesday.

He’s settling into his foster home and seems quite happy to be out of the shelter. This fun-loving pup is about 2 years old. He quickly made friends with the pups in his foster home and couldn’t wait for a game of chase.

Since he just joined his foster home, we are still getting to know Kai. One thing we do know ~ Kai is one cool pup!

Welcome Kai!!!

Tawney

Age: Approximately 3 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Tawney!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Tawney is a 3 year old Shepherd/Husky mix that was brought to the shelter a victim of cruelty. While we don’t know the details of the case, we do know that she suffered a burn of some sort on one of her front paws. No worries ~ Tawney seems to have no lasting effects. In fact, she is friends with anyone, human and canine, that she meets!

This sweet gal wants nothing more than to be a part of the family. Tawney is always up for a game of chase with her foster siblings, but also quite content to relax with the humans in her foster home. She is a great passenger on car rides, a great companion for long walks and a great buddy to hang out with on the sofa to watch TV. She loves attention from her foster parents and loves to chase groundhogs.

Tawney recently joined her MaPaw foster home, so we are still getting to know more about this young lady. Check back soon for more updates!

Joshua and Samson

Age: Approximately 5 Years/Approximately 6 Years
Sex: Male/Male
Size: Large/Average

Congratulations Joshua and Samson!!!

Meet Joshua and Samson. These boys have been bounced around quite a bit in the last couple months, but are now settling in their MaPaw foster home. Joshua (the red/white guy) and Samson (the black/white guy) have lived together all of their lives and are a bonded pair that must be adopted together.

Sadly, their Dad returned home from serving his country only to find major changes in his life. He was so happy to see his “boys” again, however, he knew he must be fair to them and arrange to provide a good life for them ~ even if it could not be with him. After hearing their story, we knew that Joshua and Samson needed MaPaw and we wanted to help Dad know his boys would always be cared for and loved.

Joshua is almost five years old and Samson is almost six. Both handsome boys are long-haired huskies or “woolies”. They absolutely love each other and are great with people. They are good with other dogs, however, due to their incredible bond they are best with each other and we feel they would be best in a home by themselves.

Joshua and Samson are well behaved, housebroken and trustworthy in the home and will certainly liven things up with friendly romps and games. Typical of the breed, they will counter-surf if given the opportunity and can dig a crater in no time flat so a secure and reinforced fence will be best to keep them safe and sound.

If you are looking for a “ready-made family” and have room in your home and heart for these two great guys, please contact us. We are getting to know them better each day and would love to tell you about them!

Meet the Newest MaPaw Pups…

Good evening Puppers ~

I wanted to introduce you to our newest members. Tawney, Joshua and Samson.

Tawney is a Husky/Shepherd mix that joined us from a shelter. From what we understand, it is believed that she was burned on one of her front paws. While the shelter could not tell us exactly what she had been burned with, they took the necessary steps to help her begin the healing of her physical wounds. This young lady (3 years old to be exact) bears no mental or emotional scars from her ordeal. In fact, she is eager to make friends with everyone, human and canine, that she meets. Tawney is going to make someone a wonderful companion!

Joshua and Samson are a bonded pair that must be adopted together. Their owner found himself facing tough times and could no longer keep them. He was completely devastated, but turned to MaPaw to help these handsome boys find a furever home. We are getting to know Joshua and Samson, but so far we do know that these guys are pretty darn cool!

We do not have their profiles up on the site yet, but we hope to have them up soon. Please check back often.

Welcome Tawney, Joshua and Samson!!!

This Weekend Brings 3 Adoptions!

Good evening Puppers ~
This weekend was a busy one for some very lucky pups of MaPaw!

First, we started off the weekend with the adoption of father and son, Slayer and Cerebeus! This handsome pair began their search for a new furever home when their family faced hard times and could no longer care for them. We are so happy that they now get to start the next chapter of their lives together.

Congratulations Slayer and Cerebeus!

Blaze also found his furever family this weekend. His new family instantly fell in love with this boy when they first saw his profile and they couldn’t wait to meet him. When they finally met, it was clear that he was truly home. Congratulations Blaze!

I love happy news!

Congratulations Van!!! We are sooooo proud of you!

Sarge

Age: 1 Year
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Sarge!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Sarge is a stunning red and white Siberian Husky with hypnotic blue eyes born on July 27, 2009. Unfortunately, his prior owners were not ready for the challenge of a Siberian puppy and we welcomed Sarge into the rescue, knowing we will find him a wonderful home that has the time and patience to help Sarge grow into a mature, wonderful companion.

Sarge’s favorite things include: romping around with his canine buddies, trips in the car, going for walks and all the love and attention he can get. After a good day of play with canine friends, Sarge loves to snuggle up at your feet while you watch TV. Overall he is just a really, really great dog – we just can’t stop saying nice things about him!

Sarge loves people, both male and female dogs, and kids. He is fairly laid-back for a one-year old sibe, but would definitely benefit from having a canine companion as a playmate and to keep him company when his human family is away. He is trustworthy in the house (for a husky) and crate trained. He also listens very well and is eager to please – which is always a great quality in a Sibe!

Nola

Age: 6 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average
Courtesy Post for Delaware AMAL Rescue

Congratulations Nola!!!

Meet Nola – a beautiful Alaskan Malamute that is approximately 6 years old. Nola is a survivor! First it was hurricane Katrina and now it is the economy. The supposed to be forever home is no more. Foreclosure earlier this month put Nola back looking for a home. Have you ever seen a 40 year old man cry as his malamute was leaving him? She is fully vetted, heart worm negative and human friendly; not at all with dogs. However, at the boarding kennel, where she now lives, she has taken a liking to the Akita next to her. Do you need a best friend? Nola does!

Nola is a courtesy posting – if interested in knowing more about this amazing dog, please email Catherine at Delaware AMAL Rescue at ccarocoho@aol.com or call 302.328.6093.
