Kita

Age: 8 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Kita!!!

Kita is a very handsome male Siberian that is 8 years old. He’s at the wonderful age where he still has a lot of spunk and loves to play, but without those silly puppy moments.

Sadly, Kita’s family had to move and it broke their hearts that they could not take their best friend along. We promised that we would take very good care of Kita until we could find him a wonderful home.

Kita is very playful and rarely barks, however, he does love to sing along when anyone starts to howl. He is housetrained and knows basic commands. He most likely would be fine as an only dog. True to the breed, he can be stubborn and he is food motivated – “treat” is a word he knows well!

Kita is looking for love in all the right places ~ a home that he can love, be loved and be a forever member of the family. We are getting to know this wonderful husky and would love to tell you more.

Luna

Age: 1-1/2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Luna!!!

Luna is a very sweet and pretty, whooly (long hair) Siberian Husky that is 1-1/2 years old. This grey and white gal is always smiling ~ just looking for some play or affection. She has two parti-eyes, each eye is part blue and part brown.

Luna is still in the puppy stage and just loves to play, play, play! She is housebroken. Luna is crate trained and goes willingly into her crate after a good play session and cuddle time. Due to her age, she is best in a crate when unsupervised to keep her out of mischief. This girl is a princess and she knows it. She has a beautiful voice and has plenty to say to anyone that cares to listen.

Luna absolutely loves to play with other dogs and will need to go to a home with another active canine companion. Sibe experience and a fence will be a plus, along with patience and continued training as she grows in adulthood.

MaPaw Welcomes 9 New Pups!!!

Hello Puppers ~
Just wanted to drop a quick note to tell you about our newest additions to the MaPaw family…

Last Monday (June 25th), we received a phone call regarding 3 adults and 6 puppies that the owner could no longer properly care for. We were told by the owner that we were the pups’ only option at a second chance. We started sending emails and making phone calls to our volunteers and foster homes.

When we were again contacted by the owner, we agreed to take all 9 dogs in. We didn’t have all of the details and logistics worked out, but we knew we needed to act fast.

On Friday (June 29th), a volunteer from MaPaw (thanks Greg!) and a volunteer from Del Val Siberian Husky Rescue (thanks Pam!) drove to meet the owner and rescue the pups. They then met up with other volunteers (thanks Dave and Jen!) who helped to transport the pups to their foster homes. It was a long, exhausting day for all and we were all relieved when the pups made it to their destinations to settle in.

Our newest family members are Annie (6 year old female), Eva (6 year old female), Matthew (2 year old male whose name will be changing shortly) and the 6 puppies (12 weeks).

All appear healthy and are settling into their new environments. Annie was quite shy when she first got to the Farm, but she has since warmed up and is enjoying herself. Eva is doing well and becoming comfortable with her foster home. Matthew is also doing well and is settling into his foster home. The puppies are…well, they’re puppies. So they’re getting into trouble and being adorable ~ no real surprise there! One of our puppies has already found a home with their foster home (the “foster” part lasted about a second).

Annie

Puppies!

All have been to see the vet and all are healthy. Everyone is settling in and will soon be available for adoption!

In Memory of Noble

Our gentle teddy bear, Noble, began his journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. His passing was unexpected and we can’t believe that he is gone. Dearest Noble ~ wear your silver harness proudly as you dance among the stars. It was our privilege to care for you and you will be greatly missed. We wish we could have had more time with you. Candles are lit to guide your way and many are waiting to welcome you at the Bridge. ~ May 26, 2011

In Memory of Missy

Our dear Missy has begun her final journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. In the past couple of weeks, Missy had been slowing down and it had become harder for her to get around. While her foster family did all that they could to keep her comfortable, she was clearly in pain. Surrounded by love and showered with tears, Missy passed peacefully.

Dear Missy ~ wear your silver harness proudly. Dance among the stars, free of pain. You are greatly missed and will always be held in our hearts. ~ October 13, 2011

In Memory of Maxie

Our dear Maxie has begun her journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. When Maxie first joined MaPaw 2 years ago, she had been diagnosed with a tumor on her liver. This petite girl made friends with everyone she met. Recently, she had begun to slow down and she seemed very tired. Surrounded by love and showered with tears, Maxie passed peacefully and quickly.

Darling Maxie ~ know that you left behind many hurting hearts and that you will be horribly missed. Wear your silver harness proudly as you dance among the stars. Candles are lit and many are waiting to welcome you.

In Memory of Lucky

Our dear Lucky has begun her final journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. In the past couple weeks, she had been getting weaker and more tired. It was clear that she could no longer fight. She passed peacefully surrounded by those that love her. Wear your silver harness proudly sweet girl. Dance among the stars free of pain. We miss you so much. This is not goodbye, it is simply until we meet again. ~ February 12, 2011

In Memory of Kito

Our beloved Kito has begun his journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. When Kito first joined MaPaw, he was a frail boy that had given up on life. Once in our care, he blossomed and learned to love life again. In the past couple of weeks, he began having trouble walking and getting up. We tried every treatment offered by the vet to help with his arthritis and discomfort. We thought we were making progress and suddenly he could no longer get up without assistance. When he began to stumble, fall and cry in pain ~ we knew it was time. Surrounded by love and in his foster Mum’s arms, Kito went to sleep and passed peacefully.

Kito ~ wear your silver harness proudly. You have touched many hearts and will be greatly missed. You are now free of pain and can dance among the stars. ~ August 13, 2011

In Memory of Kita

Our dear Kita has begun her final journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. Yesterday, she was having great difficulty in getting up and walking. It was clear to her heartbroken foster Mum that Kita was in a lot of pain. Kita passed peacefully surrounded by love.

Dearest Kita ~ we only had the pleasure of knowing you for a short while, but you left a lasting impression on our hearts. Wear your silver harness proudly as you dance among the stars. ~ September 6, 2011

In Memory of Daisy

Our beloved Miss Daisy has begun her journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer. She was a strong and courageous fighter, but in the past couple of weeks she had begun to slow down. Today, it was clear that her body could no longer fight and she was ready. Surrounded by love and showered by tears, Daisy passed quickly and peacefully.

Dearest Daisy ~ Wear your silver harness proudly. You fought hard and now you are free of pain. Dance among the stars as you make your way. Many are waiting to greet you. You will be horribly missed and always in our hearts… ~ January 16, 2012
