Greetings from New York!!

Good evening Puppers ~

Do you remember Chooey? Well…..

He found his furever home in New York City! That’s right – our Chooey is a city boy now! And along with his new home came a new name ~ he is now known as Beau. We think his name is perfect for him!

Here’s a photo of him at the park. Just look at that smile!

His new Mom, Caroline, takes Beau to doggie daycare during the day while she’s at work so that he doesn’t have to be alone. At night, he gets her undivided attention. He enjoys walks, dog parks and outdoor cafe dining.

He sure is one lucky pup!!

I love happy tails!

Welcome to Our New MaPaw Family Members!

Hello Puppers ~
This past weekend we had 4 new pups join the MaPaw family. That’s right ~ I said 4!!!

On Saturday, the 1st to join our crew was Foxy. This frail looking older lady had been returned to the shelter due to separation anxiety. She is so painfully thin, but lots of TLC and good food will help her get back to a healthy weight. She joined fellow MaPaw foster, Cota, in his foster home. She has such a sweet disposition and is always looking for a loving pet. And yes ~ those ears are really that big!!

Dasha was the next pup to join us. She is a sweet 1 year old beauty who enjoys playing with her foster sibelings. This young lady was apparently living in a car with her owner and found herself alone when her owner needed to be hospitalized.

The last pup to join us on Saturday was beautiful Bellana (Bella for short). This black and white 1 year old is absolutely stunning. She came to rescue when her home situation changed and unfortunately there was no room for her. She quickly settled into her foster home and is loving all the play time she is getting with her foster sibelings.

On Sunday, the only male in our newest additions was picked up by his foster Mum. This young man had been a chained up junkyard dog with no shelter or water. Because of this, he is timid. Spencer will get all of the attention and love he has missed out on as he prepares to find his furever home.

Since these 4 just joined us this weekend, we are learning about them and hope to have them up on the MaPaw site (www.sibes.com) soon. Please check our site for updates on each of these wonderful pups!

Have a good night!!

Huskies Everywhere!!!

Yesterday, a few of MaPaw’s fosters, alumni and their friends got together at Dogtown for some good old husky playtime. We had 18 dogs running about!!

Brandy, Tundra, Juno, Killian and Shiloh stopped by to say hello to the MaPaw fosters. Each of them had once been a MaPaw foster as well and now each had their furever home. In fact, Tundra traveled along with MaPaw foster, Cota and new gal, Foxy (see tomorrow’s blog for more info about her). Juno brought along his foster brother, Kenya, so everyone could meet the cool 3-pawed guy. Shiloh brought his foster brother, Ray, to join in the fun. Killian heard there was husky fun to be had and couldn’t stay away!

Axle has hosted his share of MaPaw fosters and has joined in the husky fun (although he is only an honorary husky), so he brought his foster brother, Blitz. Both boys met their new foster sister, Bella (Bellana is her real name and check out tomorrow’s blog to learn more about this beauty). Van stopped in to say hi and get some pets.

MaPaw friends, Ben and Jerry also stopped by to run around. We were very happy to meet them and we hope to see them at the next play date.

As the Husky festivities began, 2 more pups asked if it would be okay for them to join in as well. Since we huskies love to play, the more the merrier!! So Toby and Precious joined in the great Husky chase!! We really hope they come back for our next playdate!!

Not only did we have fun running around, chasing each other and getting pets from the humans ~ Chooey met his new Mum and got to go to his furever home. His foster Mum was very sad to see him go, but she knew that his new Mum would take the best care of him. We can’t wait to get updates about Chooey from his Mum.

I can’t wait to hear about next month’s play date!!

Congrats to Brandy!

Brandy is a very sensitive little girl who needs someone who understands her personality and quirks. She is a very special girl and she needed a special family that understood exactly what she needed to feel safe and comfortable.

Because Brandy is so sensitive, her foster Mom decided that the best home for her would be right where she was. We were so excited to hear that Miss Brandy had found her furever home! Rachel is a very loving and patient Mom who will take wonderful care of Brandy. We can’t wait to hear updates on how Brandy is doing and hopefully we will soon get an adoption picture of the happy family (hint hint)!

Congratulations to Brandy and Rachel!!

Another Busy Weekend….

Please join me in welcoming our 2 new guys! That’s right ~ we had 2 boys join MaPaw yesterday. Each boy has a sad tale to tell, but now they have something to smile about. And that’s all they’ve been doing since each joined their foster homes!

MaPaw was first contacted about Kenya last week. For reasons unknown, he was dropped off in the midst of farmland and parks. Once nobody came forward to claim this young man, his good samaritan contacted MaPaw. Once we heard his story, we knew that we needed to help this guy find his furever home. Not only was this poor guy abandoned, but he only has 3 paws! It certainly does NOT slow him down at all! He has done nothing but run and play since joining the other pups at his foster home.

Our other new addition is Ben. He had been taken to the shelter after his owner got too ill to care for him. This 8 year old Husky/Shepherd mix certainly doesn’t act his age. He already loves to frolic and play with the other pups in his foster home. Ben is so happy to be in a home environment once again. He does have an ear infection, but is on medication for that. It certainly doesn’t seem to be dampening his spirt. Click here to check out his video, if you don’t believe me!

Please check out www.sibes.com for updates as we get to know Kenya and Ben!

Kenya and Ben ~ Welcome to the MaPaw Family!!!

Did Someone Say Road Trip?

On Saturday (3.7), MaPaw got an email about a pair of Sibes in Virginia that managed to get themselves into some trouble. They found themselves in the custody of Animal Control with a very bleak future. Much to the owner’s dismay, Animal Control would only release them to a rescue and the rescue could not be in a state next to Virginia. Not sure what to do, the email campaign started and that’s when MaPaw got the news.

A foster home stepped forward and everything was set in motion. Now we just needed to find a way to get Luke and Malachai (the Sibes) from Virginia to Pennsylvania…..

We posted to our group to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get them to their new foster home. We were sure that nobody would want to drive all the way to Virginia and back. Boy were we wrong! We had not just 1 person volunteer, but 2 of our awesome volunteers offered to take the trip!!!!

Needless to say, Luke and Malachai’s owner was ecstatic that his boys would be saved! He and his family were very sad to see them go, but knew that they would be well taken care of.

Ann and Tom packed up the car and left on their multi-state journey on Tuesday. After seeing pictures of the boys, they couldn’t wait to meet them. After their long journey, they were met by 2 smiling Husky faces. Here’s Ann and the boys:

After a quick introduction, walk and potty break ~ they loaded back into the car to start their trek to the boys’ foster home.

We are told that Luke and Malachai were very sweet and well-behaved during their road trip. Enjoy some photos of the boys on their ride to a second chance……

Ann and Tom ~ Thank you so much for making the trip to pick up these 2 and driving them to safety!

Dave E. ~ Thank you for the offer to make the trip. We have you on the books for the next one!!!

The Dezutti Family ~ Thank you for opening your home to these boys to give them the second chance they deserve!

I just LOVE happy endings!
