Rudy

Age: 3 Months
Sex: Male
Size: Small Now, But Growing Every Day

Congratulations Rudy!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Rudy is a three-month-old Siberian Puppy that is ready to take on the world! He is a smart boy and is learning housebreaking 101 and crate training. Of course, husky puppies are a handful and require constant supervision and a lot of training and guidance.

Rudy will need to go to a home where he is not alone for more than four hours. Large dog/Siberian experience will be best along with another dog as a playmate and a good sturdy fenced-in yard/playground.

If you are up for the husky puppy challenge, meet the above criteria and have the time and patience to commit to a puppy and a lifetime pet, please submit our online application. In addition to the $250.00 adoption fee, there will be a neuter deposit and adoption will not be finalized until we receive a neuter certificate from a licensed vet. Serious inquiries only please.

Papillon

Age: 1 Year
Sex: Female
Size: Petite

Congratulations Papillon!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Miss Papillon is one of approximately 100 dogs recently rescued by authorities in Canada. These sled dogs were underweight and lacking proper care and shelters and rescues worked together to bring the dogs into safety.

Papillon ~ or known here at MaPaw as Papio ~ is a petite, one year old girl who is surprisingly socialized. She came into rescue a bit skittish and uncertain, but quickly gained confidence as she made friends. She loves to play with other dogs and is thriving on human affection and companionship.

Papillon is doing very well with housebreaking and is quickly adapting to being an inside pet and part of the family. She is on the small side, but her true nature shows through and she is quite a puller on a leash. She will need a home where she can continue to learn to be a pampered pet. She will also be best in a home with another active dog to play with and a sturdy “sibe-proof” six-foot fence.

The future is bright for this little girl and we are looking forward to watching it all come true for her.

Triska

Age: Approximately 13 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Our dear Triska has begun her journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. She joined her MaPaw foster home almost 2 years ago and quickly won the hearts of her foster family. Her family worked with her to gain her trust and her true personality soon showed ~ wonderfully loving and sassy! Sadly, she was no longer able to get up on her own and was clearly uncomfortable and distressed. She passed peacefully surrounded by love and showered by tears. Dearest Triska ~ Wear your silver harness proudly dear friend. You can run once again free of the pain that held you back. You are greatly missed. We mourn your passing, but celebrate the time we were lucky enough to spend with you. It’s not goodbye dearest friend, simply until we meet again. ~ 6.15.2012

Triska is a striking Siberian Senior with a sad tail… For unknown reasons she found herself at a shelter and very depressed. No sooner than Triska came into MaPaw and started settling in, seizures began. We are very happy to report that she is now regulated with Phenobarbital, an inexpensive seizure medicine, and is currently seizure free! Paws crossed!

Triska has been through a lot and was very sad when we first met her. We will never know her past and it has taken months of devotion and love, but Triska is now a happy girl. She loves walks and visiting parks and has a beautiful voice. She will gladly join in any discussion, especially “when is dinner?”.

Triska has now been diagnosed with Cushings Disease and this has been more challenging and expensive to treat. She has been placed on a new medicine, Trilostane, which we are hopeful will stabilize her. This wonderful girl has come so far and has blossomed into a sweet and sassy senior and we are happy to be able to help her with your help. It does come with a hefty price tag, in 13 months her bills and medicines have exceeded $5,000.00. Knowing she is happy and will always be so ~ priceless!

Maxie

Age: 15 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Petite

Our dear Maxie has begun her journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. When Maxie first joined MaPaw 2 years ago, she had been diagnosed with a tumor on her liver. This petite girl made friends with everyone she met. Recently, she had begun to slow down and she seemed very tired. Surrounded by love and showered with tears, Maxie passed peacefully and quickly.

Darling Maxie ~ know that you left behind many hurting hearts and that you will be horribly missed. Wear your silver harness proudly as you dance among the stars. Candles are lit and many are waiting to welcome you.

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Maxie is a petite fifteen-year old Siberian who makes instant friends with everyone she meets. Sadly, Maxie found her way into our rescue after being abandoned in a foreclosed and vacant house. Thank goodness, a Good Samaritan called the Animal Abuse Hotline and Maxie was saved.

Maxie is a timeless beauty who is enjoying every minute of her golden years. Her favorite past times are going for rides in the car, slow walks around the neighborhood and just being part of her foster family where she can cuddle on the couch.

We were sad to learn during a vet exam that Maxie has a mass on her liver which is in all probability cancerous. Due to her advanced age we have agreed with our vet that the kindest action is to not put our sweet girl through invasive testing that would not have any bearing on her quality of life.

Maxie continues to be happy and comfortable ~ and loved ~ in her foster home and we hope she will remain so for quite some time.

Boston

Age: 9 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Our dear Boston has begun his journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. On Saturday, he just didn’t seem like himself and by this morning, he was clearly uncomfortable. A trip to the doctor confirmed our worst fears. Boston had cancer and there was nothing that could be done. True to his strong character, he never let us know until it was too late. In the arms of his family, Boston laid quietly and closed his eyes one last time. He was surrounded by love and showered by many, many tears. Dearest Boston ~ Wear your silver harness with great pride as you dance among the stars. You were such a strong presence and your absence is devastating. You will forever be in our hearts, dear friend. Never goodbye, only until we meet again… ~ 11.19.2012

Boston was going through a rough time when we met him. There had been so many major life changes in his life ~ new house, new baby, new elderly family member moving in. Life became too much of a challenge for him. When pushed, Boston developed behavioral issues and was clearly an unhappy boy.

In an initial evaluation, however, we saw a great potential in this young red and white Siberian. He seemed confused, however, was eager to please. We felt Boston had been dealt a bad hand in life and decided to work with him and give him a second leash on life.

Boston has had his ups and downs over the last years. He continues to have issues, however, they are easily resolved with positive training and trading up. All in all, he is a good dog that is intelligent and affectionate. Boston has learned to play with the other dogs even though more often than not he thinks of himself as the “fun police”. He loves his crate, especially for stashing goodies – Boston is a known thief and hides his booty in his crate. When something is missing, we all know where to look!

Boston is a welcome member of his foster home, however, it is feared that any more life changes would be too much for Boston. Due to his past issues, he will not be placed up for adoption and he will stay in rescue, loved and care for for the rest of his life.

UPDATE APRIL 2012
It’s hard to believe Boston has been with the MaPaw family for over six years! He is now nine years old! Moving to the farm was stressful for him at first, however, he quickly appreciated his larger play area and finding new spots in the farmhouse. He has slowed down a bit with a touch of arthritis, but still enjoys playing and acting as the “fun police”. He remains a thief and we never know what we will find in his crate… remote controls, phones, even a full size paper cutter. Boston is happy and knows he is loved and in a forever foster home.

Cyrus

Age: 3 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Cyrus!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Cyrus is a very handsome Siberian husky who is approximately three years old. He was originally adopted out two years ago, however, his family’s work schedule changed. Cyrus was spending a lot of time alone and his family felt that he was becoming lonely and unhappy. Wanting only the best for Cyrus, his family decided it would be best that Cyrus find a family who could be home on a more regular basis. In addition, they felt that he would also benefit from having a canine companion – and we couldn’t agree more!

Since returning to rescue, Cyrus is a happy boy who just loves playing with his new foster brothers and sisters. In addition to playing with his canine friends, he enjoys running and biking (on leash of course). After an active day, Cyrus loves to snuggle up on the couch with his best friends and just relax.

True to his name, Cyrus is quite the talker – especially when he wants to play! He is crate trained (although he is probably just fine without it) and housebroken. Cyrus is a typical Siberian husky, so it would be best for him to be placed in a home that is husky savvy. In addition, a yard with a nice sturdy fence and a canine playmate would be perfect!

If you are looking for a dog that is past the destructive puppy stage, but still has a lot of energy to enjoy an active lifestyle with the rest of your pack…Cyrus might be just the boy for you!

Kira

Age: 8 Months
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Kira!!!

Kira is an eight month old Siberian husky female that is new to the MaPaw family. This pup is a spirited little red head that is full of life and kisses! She gets along with all dogs and people alike…if she had a motto it would be “do you wanna play, play, play???”. Kira’s favorite things include: food, playing, kisses, squeaky toys and daily trips to the dog park.

Kira is very true to the breed and will need a sibe-savvy home with another active canine companion. In addition, Kira is still very much a puppy and will require a home with the patience and time to guide and train her so that she may blossom into a wonderful adult.

If you are up to the husky puppy challenge and think Kira would be perfect for your pack, what are you waiting for? Kira’s ready to play!!!

Moe

Age: 14 Months
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Moe!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Moe had some very bad luck and then his luck changed. It started when his owner died and Moe lost his family and his home. Then he got loose and was struck by a car. Thankfully a Good Samaritan provided the necessary surgery and then asked if we could provide future care and recuperation. Of course, we opened our arms to this sweet guy.

Moe is a very handsome 14-month-old Siberian puppy with Agouti coloring (www.huskycolors.com/agouti.html). He is very friendly with people of all ages and other dogs. Despite the discomfort Moe must have been in, he met us with tail wags, a big Siberian grin and plenty of kisses. The hardest part of Moe’s care will be keeping him quiet for the next six to eight weeks while he heals.

Moe is healing nicely and when vet approved, he will be ready to find a furever home where he can be a VIP (very important pooch). Of course, he will need a safe and secure home to keep him safe and sound.

Aero

Age: Approximately 13 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

*July 16th, 2013 – Over the last year, Aero (Bobo) has continued to slow down. Geriatric bloodwork, confirmed he was in good health, he was just getting tired. Recently he was unable to get up and when assisted, he often fell. His mind was sharp and he wanted to be loved, but finally we knew it was time to give Bobo release from his stiffness, pain and confusion. This afternoon, after a special ice cream party and circled with those who loved him the most, Bo gently and peacefully began his final journey. God Speed dear friend ~ until we meet again.*

UPDATE APRIL 2012
It is hard to believe Aero (Bobo) has been part of the MaPaw Family for three years! He now knows he is loved and safe with us and has actually become the class clown. He demands attention (which we are happy to give!) and wears a silly grin. He still eats separately, but he now realizes dinner will be ready for him every night. At the age of 13 he is slowing down a bit and being treated for arthritis. He loves to sleep in the MaPaw office on his blanket in front of the heater ~ happy to belong and able to “assist”. After so many years of abuse, Bobo is enjoying his senior years ~ and we are enjoying having him with us.

UPDATE JANUARY 2011
Aero has now been part of the MaPaw family just shy of two wonderful years and helped us welcome in 2011. Our old guy has flourished with good food and lots of love. He did give us quite a scare in October when he suddenly stumbled, walked in circles and seemed unaware of his surroundings. Despite the stroke-like symptoms, we determined Aero had suffered Canine Vestibular Syndrome which resolved itself only leaving a permanent tilt to Aero’s head. We tell him it gives him a youthful look. He proudly wears his bandana “Oldie but Goodie” and he remains happy and loved for what we hope will be a long time.
Aero never knew what it was like to be a pet. He never had a chance. We were contacted by a busy city shelter to alert us to a cruelty case involving a Siberian who was dangerously thin, filthy and matted.

Our hearts went out to Aero when we met him ~ his muscle mass had deteriorated, his confidence had faltered and yet he looked up at us with a glimmer of hope… and the tail wagged ever so softly. We knew we had to try and put the pieces together again for this broken and abused Siberian.

Aero didn’t even know his name. We suspect no one ever called him by his name, probably never called him at all. He came into the rescue physically sick from starvation and neglect and at first refused to even eat or drink. We feared he had given up. This poor senior Siberian had been harmed in so many ways and yet he began to trust once again. He was given small frequent meals and his tummy began to adjust and the long road to recovery began ~ both physically and emotionally.

Aero, also known affectionately as Bobo, has recovered physically though we fear his past abuse and neglect has taken it’s toll. He does, however, remain food aggressive (no doubt!) and will not be adopted for this reason. He is fed separately and has no other apparent issues other than some stiffness and perhaps a bit of senility.

Aero is happy, finally. And we are happy to have him. He will be a loved member of MaPaw for what we hope is a very long time.

Van

Age: 9 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Van!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Van is a very special Siberian who we are extremely proud of. He came into Rescue almost two years ago ~ a middle age, low-key Siberian we all fell in love with. Shortly thereafter, he was diagnosed with Perianal Gland Cancer. We were devastated, but were assured it was treatable with surgery and chemo treatment and Van would not experience adverse reactions. It was very expensive, but we couldn’t say no to Van.

Van has been cancer free and in remission 19 months! He does need to be checked periodically to make sure he remains cancer free. He is a wonderful, affectionate Siberian and his foster mom calls him a “Siberian throw rug”. He is just happy to be near you and hang out or share a good movie.

“Van Man” or “Big Red” ~ any name you want to call him, this guy is a trooper and real winner!! He has won his battle with cancer and now he only needs a permanent home to call his own.

Please feel free to contact us for more information and details about Van.

Our heartfelt thank woos to everyone who supported Van and sent well wishes and sibe vibes. Thanks to you, we are able to help these wonderful dogs.

An extra special thank you to Dr. Jeglum and Veterinary Oncology Services and Radiation Center of West Chester and Chalfont for taking such wonderful care of our special sibe!
