Congratulations Ice!!!

Click here to check out my video on YouTube!

Ice is a happy 20 month old Siberian puppy that is just full of energy and fun! This girl is a diva and she knows it. She is full of sweetness and spunk and is always on the go. She is a black and white splash coat with striking blue eyes and a personality that you will fall in love with. She is wonderful with other dogs her size and she loves people.

Due to Ice’s high energy level and constant curiosity, she must be placed in a home with another active, young canine companion that will keep up with her and join in her play. She will also require a sturdy, tall fence to keep her safe and sound. A sibe savvy home with a sense of humor and puppy patience is a plus!

This girl has a lifetime of love and laughter to give to a lucky home where she can fit in and be a very special part of the family.

Catching Up…

Hello Puppers ~
It has been a bit since our last update and there has been some wonderful news and new additions…

The first lucky pup to find his forever home was Caspian. He had been with MaPaw for a month before he was truly ready to begin his search for a forever home. Within days of making his debut on the MaPaw website, he soon became Mr. Popularity. It could have been his soulful eyes ~ everyone who saw his photo seemed to fall in love with him. Once you meet him, you’ll find that he has an incredible personality to match those eyes. Caspian has found a wonderful home with a canine housemate.

Caspian was adopted on March 31st.

Rehnquist was the next guy to find his new family. He was an owner surrender who remained with his family while we helped him find a new family. When our volunteers first met Rehnquist, they fell in love with his wonderful personality (and his typical Husky good looks). He is so loving and a true cuddler, which is good cause he’s helping heal some broken hearts in his new family who are dealing with the recent loss of their beloved canine family member.

Rehnquist was adopted on March 31st.

Next up was Luke, the boy that came to MaPaw so very sick and frail. After months of medications and TLC from his foster family, Luke was finally ready to begin his search. Luckily for Luke, he didn’t have to wait long. His new Mum had met him while he was still on medical hold and fell in love. Luke just needed the okay from the doctor that he was ready to go to his new home and meet his sibelings (he now has 3 of them!). Luke has certainly come a long way ~ from fighting for his life to being a spoiled and loved member of a wonderful family.

Luke was adopted on April 12th.

Bear was the next lucky boy. Bear had come to us after being rescued from a foreclosed home where his owner abandoned him. Understandably, Bear had some anxiety when alone and would pace and whine in new situations. He needed a family that understood his past and could give him the time he needed to become comfortable. At 10 years young, Bear was still an active member of his foster home who enjoyed playing with his canine housemates, but it is harder to place senior pups. When we got his new Mum’s application, we thought this might be a good match and after speaking with her, we knew it definitely was the perfect home for Bear. He would never be alone and would even have a canine sibling. Oh yeah ~ almost forgot the “spoiled to death” part.

Bear was adopted on April 14th.

Cassie wasn’t with us long before she started gathering admirers. All you had to do was meet this sweet little gal and you would fall in love! Cassie is a gorgeous red and white adult female estimated to be about 6 years old. She found herself at an area shelter after being picked up as a stray. Surprisingly, nobody ever came forward to take her home. She quickly settled into her foster home and was soon ready to begin the search for her forever home. Lucky for her, Sierra (a MaPaw alum) was thinking she might be ready for a sibeling to share her human Dad with. The gals met and they were quickly great friends. Cassie went home the following weekend.

Cassie was adopted April 22, 2012.

Our most recent happy tail is our goofy Kiernan. Kiernan came to MaPaw when his family found that they were not able to offer Kiernan the time and attention he needed. They asked us to help find him the perfect home and we think we’ve done just that. He has found a family that is looking forward to loving and spoiling him for a long time to come AND he has a canine sibling to play and nap with.

Kiernan was adopted April 28, 2012.

Congratulations to all of our lucky pups and their new families!

Now, let’s welcome the new pups to MaPaw…

On March 15th, 2 MaPaw pups returned to us. Meadow and Shelby had been adopted together and were settling in when a medical emergency struck their new family. The girls came back to MaPaw temporarily while their new Mum recuperated. When their Mum was strong enough, they returned to their home. Unfortunately, their new Mum realized that she was no longer able to care for the pair. Meadow and Shelby are a great pair who can be adopted together or separately. Shelby needs a canine companion since she is still shy and she learns from the pups around her.

On March 23rd, Cassie joined the MaPaw family. This beautiful gal was found as a stray and surprisingly, nobody ever came forward to claim her. We still can’t understand how someone wasn’t missing her. She is a gorgeous 6ish year old girl that is an absolute love. She enjoys a good play session with her canine housemates and loves spending time with the humans.

On March 31st, 3 dogs made their way to the Farm. First up, Zeva and Frankie made their way from a Delaware shelter to the Farm. Their stay was only temporary as they met their new foster homes there. Zeva is an adorable (and slightly mischievous) 6 month old redhead who is full of herself. Luckily, her foster home has a young Sibe which is a must for this little gal!

Frankie is a 10 month old handsome pup with a white coat and blue eyes. While we didn’t know it when we first met him, Frankie was not well. Frankie’s foster Mum noticed that Frankie was not acting like himself and quickly made a doctor’s appointment. After consulting with the doctor and several conversations, we decided to take him to emergency care where someone would be observing him for changes in his condition. Having recently watched Luke go through pneumonia and associated complications and losing Dora, we chose to be proactive with his care. Luckily, we got him to emergency care because he quickly progressed to having pneumonia in both lungs. After an overnight stay with IV fluids, antibiotics and lots of supportive care, Frankie was able to go back to his foster home. He just had his 2 week checkup and the doctor thinks that Frankie is doing very well. His lungs sounded clear and the doctor is optimistic that he will make a full recovery. We are excited for Frankie to be able to start the search for his forever family.

The third pup that joined us on the 31st was Tiger. Tiger is a 10 year old gal whose family found that the long hours that she was alone was making her anxiety worse. They were heartbroken, but felt it would be best for Tiger if she were able to find a family that would be able to spend time with her and reassure her. She is on medication for her anxiety and has settled into her routine at the Farm. Tiger has a wonderful personality and enjoys spending time with the humans.

Our busy weekend wasn’t quite done. We had one more pup to bring into MaPaw. Jasper is a 2 year old boy that is on the bigger side. He found himself at an area shelter because of his bigger size and energy level ~ the boy just wants to play! After the addition of a new baby, Jasper’s family felt that he needed to find a family that was better suited to find an outlet for his energy. This boy is a joy to be around and is constantly looking for somepup to play a game of chase with.

Our final new pup to tell you about is Blaze. Yup, it’s that same handsome Blaze that was adopted just 6 months ago. Unfortunately due to life changes, his family must find Blaze a new family. This handsome boy is almost 7 years old. He is at a wonderful age where he still loves to play, but also enjoys those quiet times too. Blaze enjoys the company of humans and canines alike and would do best in a home with another canine housemate to share his time with.

Welcome to our new pups! We look forward to sharing more Happy Tails for these pups with you soon!

If you’d like to know more about any of our newest pups, please contact us ~ we would love to tell you more about them!

Frankie

Age: 10 Months
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Frankie!!!

Frankie is an adorable 10 month old pup that somehow lost his way. We can’t believe that nobody is looking for him ~ he is an absolute love!

Shortly after joining his MaPaw foster home, Frankie became lethargic. He was taken to the doctor where he was prescribed antibiotics. After discussing it further, we chose to send Frankie to the emergency hospital where he would be monitored 24 hours a day. We are so happy we made that decision. Within hours, Frankie had pneumonia in both lungs and we were told his condition was life threatening.

The next morning brought good news ~ our little fighter had made it through the night. Over the next 4 days, Frankie fought and gradually got a little better each day. Finally, he was well enough to travel back to his foster home.

Frankie has a long recovery ahead of him ~ 6 week course of several antibiotics and chest x-rays every 2 weeks. Now that he’s feeling a little better, his personality is starting to show.

Please check back for updates. We can’t wait to tell you more about Frankie as we get to know him.

Congratulations Cassie!!!

Cassie is a stunning red and white Siberian with a personality to match. We fell in love with her as soon as we met her. Cassie was a stray and we are baffled that she was not found by her people, she obviously was a very cared for pet.

Cassie is estimated to be 6 years old ~ she is calm and loving and also frisky with the other pups; the perfect age. She is housebroken and trustworthy in the house. She is wonderful in the car, enjoys walks and just hanging out. She becomes attached to her people quickly and enjoys following them around and napping near them. She loves attention.

Another Lucky Pup Finds Her Forever Home!

Good evening Puppers ~
When Trudi first joined MaPaw, she was an unbelievable 107 pounds! This poor gal could hardly move and she just seemed so uncomfortable. A visit to the vet and blood work confirmed that Trudi was hypothyroid.

With the help of medication and a strict diet, Trudi soon started shedding the pounds (along with some Husky hair, of course). She was clearly feeling better and soon her true personality started to shine through. She was finally able to play along with her canine housemates.

After suffering the loss of their Husky, a friend of MaPaw contacted us to find a companion for their Husky who was mourning the loss of his sibeling. Trudi had waited patiently for months to find the perfect home. Finally… a perfect match! She has Max to play and run with, Goldie to relax and nap with and humans to spoil her! We know that Trudi will be well taken care of and loved.

We look forward to many updates and photos…

Congratulations Trudi!!!

Trudi joined her forever home on March 24, 2012.

Two Lucky Pups Find Their Forever Homes!

Good evening Puppers ~
After 1 year and 4 months, our Ozzie has finally found his forever home!

When Ozzie joined MaPaw, he was a typical young Husky ~ full of energy and definitely full of himself… He soon found comfort in his routine and matured a bit. Have you ever seen a Husky jump onto the kitchen counter with hardly any effort ~ like a cat? That’s Ozzie!

Ozzie has found the perfect home with humans that will love him and a sibeling to spend his time with! Congratulations to Ozzie and his family!

Ozzie joined his forever home on March 9th.

Our second lucky pup is Zelda. She found her way to MaPaw after she lost her family. When she first joined us, she seemed sad like she was missing something. She soon warmed up to her foster home and her true personality began to show through. She became a wonderful companion to her humans and her canine housemates.

Zelda may have lost her first family, but she has now found the perfect family to share the rest of her life with. Even better ~ she has a sibeling, sister Tasha! Congratulations to Zelda and her family!

Zelda joined her forever home on March 11th.

We are so happy for Ozzie and Zelda and their families! We look forward to many photos and updates…

Did you notice that both MaPaw pups (black & white) were adopted to families with red & white sibelings? Hmmm….

Beef & Beer Huge Success

Hello Puppers ~
On Saturday March 10th, MaPaw took over one of the banquet halls at the Gilbertsville Fire Company No. 1 (Gilbertsville, PA) for our Beef & Beer fundraiser. We had a blast and the night was a great success.

We had a silent auction that included a handmade Wolf quilt (donated by MaPaw member, Denise S.), a painting of MaPaw pup Kiernan (donated by MaPaw member, Kathryn), an 11″ x 14″ hand drawn portrait of the lucky winner’s companion (donated by Obskured Canvas) and an incredible vacation package for Cape May.

Over 40 raffle baskets were donated and included treats and toys for pups, games and toys for children, gardening items, Reading Phillies tickets, candles and more.

Some of our volunteers were busy bakers and supplied plenty of delicious treats for our bake sale.

We had an amazing night chatting with old friends and making new friends. We were overwhelmed by all of the support from our friends and community. The best part ~ we raised much needed funds to go toward the care of our pups!

Click here to see some photos from the night!

Rehnquist

Age: 2 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Rehnquist!!!

Rehnquist is a very handsome 2 year old male Siberian that is sure to make you smile! His family had a new baby who developed allergies to Rehnquist and, unfortunately, Rehnquist has to find another home.

Rehnquist is good with kids and other dogs. He is housebroken and crate trained and is medium energy. He loves car rides and walks ~ he walks twice a day and is good on the leash. Of course, being a Siberian, Rehnquist loves to run and he must be inside, in a secure fenced area or on leash at all times.

He is a smart boy ~ he knows “sit”, “shake”, “crawl” and “touch” (he touches your closed hand for the hidden treats). He loves to play tug of war and will bring his toy to you with an invitation to play.

Rehnquist is an all-around great dog with a terrific personality. He would love to have a canine companion to play with and a family he can love.

Bear

Age: Approximately 10 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Bear!!!

Bear is a stunning long-hair (wooly) husky who has a very sad story. His owner lost his home and abandoned Bear in the house. Concerned people contacted the authorities and they rescued Bear. Bear has been released to MaPaw and we are really enjoying this guy!

Bear is approximately ten years, though he seems much younger. He loves to play with the other dogs and gets along with everyone. After a good play session, Bear is content to relax near you. He loves to sleep at your feet and quietly snore. He does like to be close to people, no doubt from being left alone in an empty house.

Bear’s perfect home would be someone that can re-assure him in the beginning until he settles in and realizes he won’t be abandoned again. Another dog would be best to show Bear the ropes and to play with him. When put in a new environment, Bear will bark and fuss a bit if put in a crate.

This boy has had hard times and needs a new home with lots of TLC! Bear made instant friends with all of us at MaPaw and we see what a wonderful dog he is ~ he just needs to know that he is loved again.
