Luka

Age: 2 Years
Sex: Male
Size: On the Smaller Side

Congratulations Luka!!!

Luka is an amazingly affectionate and petite 2 year old Siberian that came into rescue with Annie, Eva and a litter of puppies the owner could no longer care for. Although being an indoor companion was not part of Luka’s first 2 years of life, he settled into the routine rather quickly.

Luka is small for a male ~ weighing in at only around 35 pounds. It’s a good thing too ~ this guy thinks he’s a lap dog and isn’t shy about climbing into the nearest lap! Luka will happily accept any form of adoration from his humans.

Luka gets along well with other dogs and would love a home with another canine companion.

Eva

Age: 6 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Eva!!!

Eva is a sweet and somewhat petite 6 year old Siberian that came into rescue with Annie, Luka and a litter of puppies the owner could no longer care for. Becoming an indoor pet was a big change for Eva, however, she quickly realized this was a very good thing and she began to soak up much needed attention and TLC.

Eva quickly learned her foster family’s routine and is trustworthy in the house; however, she does resist being crated. She is great with other dogs and she loves people. She is a gentle girl and rather low energy. Eva is happiest when she is near you ~ especially if you allow her to share the couch for some quality time.

Eva is a very social and affectionate girl wanting to make up for lost time. She has now been spayed and is ready to find her forever home and someone to love. She seems to know that she has been given a second leash on life and she will make someone very, very happy. This girl is looking for love and a lifetime commitment ~ is she the one for you?

Alli

Age: 7 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Alli!!!

Alli is a beautiful 7 year old red and white Siberian Husky with baby blue eyes. This pretty gal just wants to love and be loved.

Alli is a victim of the economy and came into rescue with her longtime companion, Roland. While not a bonded pair, they do enjoy each other and would love to go to their new home together. They will be fine separated, but it is best that they live with another Siberian.

Alli is a little sad and is not quite sure what is happening to her. She is trustworthy in the house and loves her crate. She is beginning to feel comfortable in her foster home and wanting attention. She has claimed the bed as her special petting zone and she loves to look out windows at the groundhogs and birds.

If you are looking for a loyal girl to share quality time, please ask us about this sweetie!

Roland

Age: 8 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Roland!!!

Roland is a handsome 8 year old Siberian Husky whose brown eyes are certain to melt your heart. He is a “whooly” or long-hair husky who always has that Siberian smile and is ready to be with you in whatever you are doing.

Roland is a victim of the economy and came into rescue with his companion, Alli. While not a bonded pair, they do enjoy each other and would love to go to their new home together. They will be fine separated, but it is best that they live with another Siberian.

Roland is trustworthy in the house and loves his crate. He can be the typical husky escape artist and will need a sturdy 6-foot fence to keep him safe and sound.

If you have room in your home and heart for this great guy, please let us know!

A Familiar Face Returns to MaPaw

Getting a phone call from a local shelter is not a rare occurrence, but getting a phone call from a local shelter saying they had a MaPaw dog has NEVER happened.

The voice on the other end of the line was familiar. It was our contact at a local shelter. What she was saying just didn’t make any sense to us. A Siberian Husky had been brought into the shelter by his owner who could no longer keep him because the family was getting divorced. When our contact at the shelter started going through the paperwork that accompanied “Diesel”, she came across vet records that listed MaPaw. She immediately picked up the phone and called us. Of course, we said we’ll pick him up and quickly made arrangements to spring him from the shelter. At that time, we still couldn’t figure out which dog this was at the shelter. We hadn’t had any pups named Diesel that matched his description.

Our volunteers went to the shelter to pick him up and started him on his way toward the Farm. When he finally made it to the Farm, we couldn’t believe our eyes. It was Jack! Jack had been found in Philadelphia, PA, on July 4th in 2009.

Poor Jack was clearly painful in his hind end and he was very sick. A round of antibiotics and TLC helped him spring back. Blood work has shown he has high calcium levels and the doctor suspects cancer. We aren’t sure how long we will have with Jack, but we are so grateful that he found his way back to us so that we can make sure he is loved and spoiled for as long as we have with him.

We don’t understand why his owner took him to the shelter rather than call us. We would have certainly made room for Jack. We’ll never know why his owner didn’t call us, but we do know that Jack is safe now.

Two More Lucky Pups Find Their Forever Homes!

Hello Puppers ~
I’m delighted to share that 2 more lucky MaPaw pups have found their forever homes and both have MaPaw alum sibelings.

Jasper first joined MaPaw after we were contacted by a local shelter. He had been brought there by his family because he was too high energy for their human baby. He quickly made himself comfortable in his foster home and spent his time chasing and playing with the other pups. Poor Brodie and his family were mourning the loss of Star. Brodie was becoming depressed and his family knew that he missed the companionship of another Sibe. The minute that Brodie and Jasper met, the 2 seemed like long lost friends. I wonder if they’ve stopped playing yet…

Jasper was adopted on July 14th.

Blaze had been adopted in October 2011 from MaPaw, but due to life changes his family had to find him another family. He has the greatest personality and loves everyone he meets (and everyone he meets falls in love with him). When Trudi’s human Mum decided she was ready to add another Sibe to the pack, she decided Blaze was the one. Blaze is a happy guy that now has 2 Sibes and a Golden Retriever to spend his days with.

Blaze was adopted on July 15th.

Congratulations to both boys! We are so happy for you and know that you both will be spoiled and loved.

Bonnie & Clyde

Age: 7 Years
Sex: Female/Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Bonnie and Clyde!!!

Courtesy Post for Scottsville Veterinary Adoptions (Rochester, NY)

Bonnie and Clyde were originally found wandering by themselves. They patiently waited, but their family never came to pick them up.

Both pups love human companionship and are sweet, gentle pups that crave attention. Bonnie & Clyde both have laid back personalities and enjoy just hanging out. They are selective about other canines, so would probably do best in a home without other pups.

They do need to be adopted together ~ they lost their family and we don’t want them to lose each other.

Both pups are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.

If you are interested in having Bonnie and Clyde join your family, please contact Scottsville Veterinary Adoptions directly at 585.889.8340. Bonnie and Clyde are currently residing in Rochester, NY.

Annie

Age: 6 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Annie!!!

Annie is an adorable 6 year old Siberian that came in with a group of Huskies and Husky puppies that the owner could no longer properly care for. This shy little girl had no clue what was happening to her and she was curious, but skittish and very, very frightened.

Annie soon realized that we were her friends and started to relax. At first, she was cautious and would slowly come up to you and look at you with those beautiful bi-eyes (one brown/one blue). Patience was rewarded and she soon allowed us to softly pet her.

Annie has settled into her foster home and it is thrilling to see her transformation into a happy pup. She now demands attention and loves to join you on the couch ~ this girl is making up for lost time! When she is not outside playing with the other dogs, she is nearby enjoying your company. She is now play bowing and dancing for her dinner.

Annie is a winner ~ she came to us as a little “Orphan Annie” and with some TLC and trust, she has emerged as a happy, social Siberian full of love and happiness. We are so very proud of her!

This girl has a lot of stored up love and is going to make someone a fabulous and dedicated companion. She is now ready to find her forever home and leave us with many paw prints on our hearts.

Kita

Age: 8 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average

Congratulations Kita!!!

Kita is a very handsome male Siberian that is 8 years old. He’s at the wonderful age where he still has a lot of spunk and loves to play, but without those silly puppy moments.

Sadly, Kita’s family had to move and it broke their hearts that they could not take their best friend along. We promised that we would take very good care of Kita until we could find him a wonderful home.

Kita is very playful and rarely barks, however, he does love to sing along when anyone starts to howl. He is housetrained and knows basic commands. He most likely would be fine as an only dog. True to the breed, he can be stubborn and he is food motivated – “treat” is a word he knows well!

Kita is looking for love in all the right places ~ a home that he can love, be loved and be a forever member of the family. We are getting to know this wonderful husky and would love to tell you more.

Luna

Age: 1-1/2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average

Congratulations Luna!!!

Luna is a very sweet and pretty, whooly (long hair) Siberian Husky that is 1-1/2 years old. This grey and white gal is always smiling ~ just looking for some play or affection. She has two parti-eyes, each eye is part blue and part brown.

Luna is still in the puppy stage and just loves to play, play, play! She is housebroken. Luna is crate trained and goes willingly into her crate after a good play session and cuddle time. Due to her age, she is best in a crate when unsupervised to keep her out of mischief. This girl is a princess and she knows it. She has a beautiful voice and has plenty to say to anyone that cares to listen.

Luna absolutely loves to play with other dogs and will need to go to a home with another active canine companion. Sibe experience and a fence will be a plus, along with patience and continued training as she grows in adulthood.
