Congratulations Tyco!!

Sometimes you meet a very special dog that you just want to hug and protect from the world. This was our first thought for Tyco. Tyco had been adopted by a family and returned six months later, severely underweight and with sad brown eyes. You can actually see his ribs through his fur and his tailbone juts out. His eyes are so sad and yet they still have hope. When we first met him his head was down and he would not make eye contact. Now he looks up for the praise he is learning to accept and thanks us with small kisses.

Tyco is approximately five years old. Perhaps a bit Siberian, perhaps a bit Malamute, but 100% loving pup for sure. Despite the hardship and abuse this guy has gone through, he just wants to have someone to love.

In addition to being drastically underweight, Tyco has tested positive for Lyme and Heartworm, both which could have been easily prevented with proper care and monthly preventatives. The good news is a full blood workup shows he is otherwise healthy and while it will take many months and a good bit of money, we will be able to bring this boy back to good health so he can begin a new life.

UPDATE: Tyco has made a lot of progress in his 3 months with MaPaw. He has gained weight and confidence. He is a very loving dog that just loves human attention. He contently follows his people around and loves to be pet. He has big brown eyes that just gaze adoringly at anyone who is petting him.

Tyco is living in a house with several other dogs and gets along with all of them. He does like to bark at the other male dog in the house but likes to play with the female dogs. He would do best as an only dog or with other dogs that are female.

His foster mom reports that he can still show some anxiety when first meeting people and dogs for the first time outside of his house. He shows this by pacing. He walks well on a leash and is completely trustworthy alone in the house without being crated. He knows all his basic commands and is very treat motivated. He has been around kids of all ages and was well behaved and good with the children.
