Triska is a striking Siberian Senior with a sad tail… For unknown reasons she found herself at a shelter and very depressed. The shelter felt she had both limited vision and was deaf. However, once Triska entered our rescue we were able to confirm she did have relatively normal sight and only has "husky selective hearing" (listens when she wants too).
Triska was named from the word, "triskele", an ancient symbol for three. (She is now the third current Siberian with her foster home). The name is also from triskaideka, meaning thirteen. She was pulled on Friday the thirteenth and she is estimated to be thirteen years old.
No sooner than Triska came into MaPaw and started settling in, seizures began. We are very happy to report that she is now regulated with Phenobarbital, an inexpensive seizure medicine and is currently seizure free! Paws crossed! Triska has also been diagnosed with Cushings Disease and we are in the process of controlling this with the proper dosage of meds.
Triska has been through a lot and was very sad when we first met her. We will never know her past, but guess that she is mourning the loss of her owner. She does enjoy people and especially loves mature women. She enjoys walks and visiting parks and will play and flip toys in the air for a short amount of time. She loves chews, treats and food. She has a beautiful voice and will gladly discuss and debate any subject, her favorite one being what time dinner should be.
Please stay tune for updates on Triska and feel free to contact us for further information.
