Congratulations Maverick!
Maverick is a loving dog, devoted to his family. He came into the world as a result of an irresponsible owner allowing his unneutered dogs to roam. Maverick knows the commands sit, down, and come, and he woofs at noises that disturb his peaceful home. After a divorce broke apart Maverick's family, he began to develop anxiety. His family sought veterinary help, but could not provide the essential training to ease his nervousness. In his foster home Maverick has been a perfect gentleman, although he does become anxious in new environments. To someone with the patience to help him overcome his fears, Maverick will be a faithful lifelong companion.
Update: After a few weeks at his foster home, Maverick has started to come out of his shell. He carries around toys, always looking for someone to play or cuddle with him. He gets very excited about games of fetch, wiggling and barking for his toys to be tossed again and again, and play bows to his canine foster siblings for brief wrestle matches. It is heartwarming to see this nervous dog release his fears and open himself to play.
