Dawkin

Age: 1-1/2 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Large
Status: Adopted

Congratulations Dawkin!

Dawkin found his way to MaPaw when his family noticed that he was losing his vision. By the time we took him to an opthamologist, he was almost completely blind, but still bouncy as any other Siberian puppy. Dawkin underwent double cataract surgery with lens replacement and now sees perfectly well.

Dawkin uses his boundless puppy energy to pester his canine foster siblings. He loves to romp and wrestle. He chases, jumps, tackles, and rolls around until the other dogs are exhausted and then has plenty of energy left for a hike and a game of fetch with his foster parents. Like many Siberians, Dawkin likes to play roughly, but he is friendly with people and other dogs.

Wherever there is mischief to be made, Dawkin is there. He loves to climb on the furniture and counters and doesn't hesitate to steal food while he is there. Although he knows how to sit, down, stay, and come, he would benefit from someone who would be firm about establishing boundaries. Dawkin wants to make up for the time he lost to blindness and is looking for someone to help him direct his energy.

See Dawkin's blog here. Donations for the surgery and his continued medical care are sincerely appreciated and can be made on our home page.
