Click here to learn more about Shelter Dogs in your area.

We have so many great dogs needing forever homes. Please come back and visit often for updates. The first step in adoption is to complete our on line application. Please Note: Our adoption process includes home visits and our adoption area is limited to 100 miles of Philadelphia, Pa.

Due to the Siberian Husky's High Prey Drive, we DO NOT recommend placing them in homes with cats or other smaller pets.

Spencer

Age: Approximately 1 - 2 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

Spencer is an approximate one to two years old, cream colored Siberian who has had a rotten start to life. His young life was spent chained as a "junkyard" dog; mostly with no food, no water and no shelter. He was so covered with dirt and grime and severely matted that there was no choice but to shave him down. When he arrived at the shelter, his hope for a second leash on life began.

Dakota

Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

Dakota is a mature Siberian that was removed from an abuse case along with nine other Siberians. He came into rescue bewildered and very frightened and we are happy to report that he is learning to trust once again.

Dakota has come such a long way since when he first joined MaPaw just 4 months ago. Although he is well on the path to trusting people, he still is very timid toward strangers and will need a special home that is willing to continue his socialization – but anything can be accomplished with Cheese!

Kye

Age: 2 - 3 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

**New Addition to the Family**
Kye is a young male approximately two to three years old that became separated from his family. When we visited him at the shelter two things were obvious – he didn't understand why he was there and he wanted out! He is a very easy-going pup, but was clearly confused and unhappy. It was a very happy day for us when we could pull him and put him in a foster home.

Buster

Age: 10 Years

Status: Available

Poor Buster had found himself abandoned at the shelter at the age of 10 years. Buster lost his home when his owner became too ill to care for him. Losing the only home he has ever known has been very difficult for Buster, but things are looking up now that he's with MaPaw.

Kenya

Age: Approximately 5 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

As you can see from the photo, Kenya has a parti eye. Although you can't tell from his picture, this young man only has 3 paws! No need to worry ~ that certainly doesn't slow him down. He has been playing nonstop with the other dogs in his foster home. He loves people and wants nothing more than to please his humans.

Tex

Age: Approximately 8 Months
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

Tex had been beaten so badly his eye was damaged beyond repair and then he was dumped in a stranger's yard. A Good Samaritan found him and arranged for the vet care he so desperately needed. By some miracle this little guy survived everything.

Word traveled fast about the terrible abuse this young Siberian mix suffered, however, we were unsure how we could help him while on the other side of the country. Seems like Tex was meant to be a MaPaw dog; his Good Samaritan was planning a trip out east and offered to bring him to our rescue. Tex's condition stabilized and he was able to make his journey to MaPaw where we welcomed him with open arms.

**New Addition to the Family**
Weston is one of our new kids on the block ~ a large, goofy puppy estimated at a year old. He is a Siberian Husky mix. We aren't sure what he is mixed with, but it is a large breed. He has plenty of puppy energy and will need training and guidance. He bounds at you with that puppy bounding that can knock you over.

Timber

Age: Approximately 1 Year
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

**New Addition to the Family**
Timber is a young Siberian the vets estimate to be one year old. He somehow lost his owners along the way and ended up at a shelter ~ homeless, scared and not sure what had happened to him.

Timber's past is a mystery to us, but signs point to abuse to this sweet boy. He is a very loving pup, but is a little hand-shy and loud noises startle him. His foster home is presently working with him and his trust and comfort levels are growing by leaps and bounds.

Kira

Age: Approximately 7 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Large
Status: Available

Sometimes you just can't say No. Meet Kira, one of the new kids on the block. A Husky? Not even in our eyes ~ but she is such a sweet girl and we couldn't resist those loving brown eyes just begging us to love her. We fell hook, line and sinker for this sweetheart and made her an honorary Siberian.

Princess and Snowball

Age: 10-ish Years
Sex: Female / Male
Size: Average
Status: Available

Princess (F) and Snowball (M) are two seniors that have bonded together completely. Where one goes, the other follows. They are at a wonderful stage in their life; they are happy and content as long as they have each other and a family they can love. They enjoy taking walks and going for car rides.

Princess and Snowball were turned into a high volume, center city shelter at an estimated age of 10-ish. Bewildered and frightened in this strange, crowded, noisy environment they huddled together not knowing what would come next. When we met them, we knew right away they were wonderful dogs that deserved a new leash on life.

Van

Age: 7 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Currently Receiving Medical Care

Meet Vandal, a wonderful, laid-back seven-year-old Siberian whose foster mom describes as a "Siberian throw rug". He is a perfect houseguest with no demands and loves any attention he can get. We call him Van, a much nicer name for such a nice dog that has won all of our hearts. We find it hard to believe, but Van was turned into a high volume, center city shelter where his future was in jeopardy.

We welcomed Van into Rescue and scheduled a vet visit to have the big guy checked over and neutered. It was a sad day when we learned Van had tumors that were later determined to be cancer. This gentle boy really needed our help! After surgery an appointment was scheduled with an oncologist and after a consult, ultrasound and x-rays we were given the hope we all desperately wanted - with chemotherapy Van had excellent odds of survival!

Callie

Age: 2 Years
Sex: Female
Size: Average
Status: In Hospice

Callie is a sweet gal who has epilepsy, which is usually easily controlled by medication. However, Callie is a special case and we are trying very hard to find the right dosage to help control her seizures. Until we can get her medications regulated, she'll stay with her foster family where she's getting all the love and attention she needs.

Tyco

Age: Approximately 5 Years
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Adopted

Sometimes you meet a very special dog that you just want to hug and protect from the world. This was our first thought for Tyco. Tyco had been adopted by a family and returned six months later, severely underweight and with sad brown eyes. You can actually see his ribs through his fur and his tailbone juts out. His eyes are so sad and yet they still have hope. When we first met him his head was down and he would not make eye contact. Now he looks up for the praise he is learning to accept and thanks us with small kisses.

Cota

Age: Older Gentleman
Sex: Male
Size: Average
Status: Adopted

For reasons unknown, Cota's owners had banished him to the backyard where he was forced to live outside without shelter. His owner moved out and sadly left this poor boy behind.

Cota is an older Sibe that may be deaf, but that doesn't seem to bother him at all. He is on the smaller side. Cota walks well on a leash and loves kids. This blue-eyed teddy bear is mellow and very eager to please.
